Mar del Plata
Mar del Plata is an Argentine city located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in the Buenos Aires Province, 400 km (249 mi) south of Buenos Aires. It is a very important tourist city in Argentina and holds the largest hotel infrastructure of the country. Mar del Plata is one of the major fishing ports and the biggest seaside beach resort in Argentina.
Mar del Plata has a temperate climate dominated by masses of humid, hot, sea subtropical air and an average temperature of over 22º C in the hottest month.
Long beaches, dunes, cliffs and ravines help you enjoy the sun of the summer through bike crossings, horse rides or quad excursions.
In summer there is a wide variety of activities to do. But also in winter, the "Perla del Atlántico", offers many exciting things to do:sport, ecological and adventure tourism; fishing; cultural events; interesting historical and natural heritage are only some of the alternatives that this city also offers to its visitors.
Mar del Plata hosts several markets located in different places in the city. Perhaps the most popular (by its geographic location) is the "Diagonal de los artesanos" which is situated on the "Diagonal Pueyrredon" in the center of the city, closed to the "Teatro Colón"and to the Cathedral.
